US Gov't Pushes Back Analog Cut-off Until June 12, 2009

The US Congress has just pushed back the looming transition to digital television four months. Now people have until June 12, 2009 before all the spectrum space is vacated by broadcasters. It has been debated that this move will benefit the over 6 million reported Americans with older TVs. Many filed later rather than sooner for government coupons, and while on a waiting list the funding lagged, making the original Feb. 17 deadline a mute point.
The delay already passed the US Senate unanimously. Now it’s the President’s turn. It has been reported Obama will sign it.
